When you’re touring around Newfoundland and Labrador, here are some things you should always have in your vehicle or backpack.
- Camera
- Binoculars
- Charged cellphone and charger
- Cash
- Provincial map
- Changes of clothing (light if it warms up, heavy if it cools off, and waterproof if it rains)
- Small bucket (to hold berries, seashells or wood for a fire, to make a seat or make sand castles, or to carry capelin, cod or trout)
- Fresh drinking water
- Snacks
- Garbage bag (can be useful as a makeshift tablecloth for a roadside picnic table, a rain poncho, or a bag to carry out your garbage from a hike)
- Cooler with ice or icepacks (to keep your catch, especially iceberg ice)
- Blanket and or towel
